ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research is to
examine the correlation between the use of cosmetics and self-confidence in
women. One of the factors is that cosmetic has become a vital element in a
woman’s wellness. Beauty is perceived to be crucial in woman’s life. Every
woman has her own definition of beauty. It is
a combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, which pleases the
aesthetic senses, especially the sight. The use of cosmetic plays a big role in
human development from ancient civilization until the current era. Cosmetic has
been a part of woman’s lifestyle. There
is a certain relationship between the use of cosmetics and woman’s
self-confidence, as woman will believe that they would look more attractive in
their society. Factors such as television and social media have managed to
encourage more women to wear make-up, because the definitions of beauty that
are exposed in the media are those wearing cosmetic products. Therefore, it is
believed that the use of cosmetic products automatically increases the
self-confidence level in every woman.
